General refrigeration/A/C tips

Toms Top Tips:

(1)  When working on your/customers’ A/C do not dump or ‘let go’ the refrigerant gas that is inside the system or you may be open to a hefty fine.  Also the gas can be poisonous, explosive, be an irritant, and harmful to the environment.  Just give us a call and we will be pleased to remove the gas safely from the system.  Yes – we have to charge you but the cost will no where near the cost of a fine.

 (2)  Vehikool recommend that you do not use the small refillable cans that you can buy from shops like Halfords or Motor part suppliers as we consider them dangerous and can also lead to your A/C system being damaged through overcharging and the system not being evacuated.  These cans are relatively cheap but they can cost you hundreds…. leave it to the experts.

(3)  Vehikool also recommend that you do not use any of the sealant repair kits that can be added to the A/C systems to stop leaks as in most cases they do not work and can cause blockages and damage in the system.  It is almost impossible to remove the glue/sealant from a system once it has been added.  Also it can damage an A/C engineer’s equipment.

(4)  Any damaged door seals on refrigerated equipment will cost you money.  Damaged door seals will reduce the efficient running of any refrigerated unit and will cause the equipment to work harder to maintain the required chilled temperature.  This extra work load on your equipment uses more energy and costs you more money!  Always repair or replace any faulty door lock mechanisms, and door seals to keep your equipment running at its best and reduce your costs.  Finally, keep your door openings short and to a minimum.
