My 3.5 years old daughter love this book We have all of Gerda Muller s books. This book was a baby shower gift It is beautifully illustrated This classic story was a favorite of my daughter s. This is a beautiful book I am familiar with the story from when my sons were young readers and wanted to get a copy for my grandchildren The story is funny to young children and the illustrations in this version are large and detailed I am very glad I bought this version Great story and illustrations Four unlikely animal companions set off on an adventure to become musicians in the town of BremenWhen night falls and they re cold and hungry, the friends find a cabin in the forest where they could rest and eat if it wasn t home to a band of robbers Can the animals work together, and use their musical voices to chase the robbers away Children will love braying along with the donkey, barking with the dog, purring with the cat and crowing with the rooster as the animals eventually find a new homeGerda Muller s beautiful detailed illustrations bring this classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale of animal friends to life a beautiful book Whimsical illustrations, good rhythm to the story. Gift for my nephew. This classic story is brought to life by the Gerda Muller s soothing illustrations While every page was a feast for the eyes the writing can at times feel repetitive, my three year old daughter didn t seem to notice however as she asks to have us read it to her over and over It is a somewhat difficult story to explain to a three year old because even I struggle a bit to decipher the deeper implications, but that is also what makes it an interesting fable Be sure to check the dimensions before you buy, it is much larger than I expected and I would have preferred something a little compact for a bedtime story, but that s just me.
